I ran across this post at one of my favorite blogs a few weeks ago, and I tried it over Memorial Day Weekend! It’s fantastic! I just love knowing exactly what is in the products that I use - and more and more, as I make / grow my own you-name-it (dishes, clothing, produce, compost, candles, etc.), it’s the only way I want it to be.

Homemade Laundry Powder
2 cups (finely) grated castile soap*
1 cup borax
1 cup baking soda
1 cup soda ash (washing soda)
*I used Dr. Bronners lavender soap, and found that one bar produced 2 cups of grated soap! Bonus!
